The truth is that the universe has been answering you all of your life, but you cannot receive the answers unless you are awake. – Rhonda Byrne
Rhonda Byrne is the author of the controversial book, The Secret. In it, she discusses the law of attraction, a philosophy that suggests that your thoughts are responsible for what you create in life.
If you think positively, you attract positive. If you think negatively, you attract negative.
Byrne’s quote is fascinating for a couple of different reasons.
For one, the suggestion that the universe has been answering you all of your life. What exactly has it been answering? Your questions? Or is she just suggesting that it’s responding to your thoughts?
Secondly, the idea that you cannot receive the answers unless you are awake. It’s fairly apparent that she’s not saying that you have to be literally awake (as in not sleeping) to receive answers, but then, what is she saying? That you have to “tune in” to the universe to hear those answers? What would that look like?
What do you think? What is Byrne really saying here? Why did she come to the conclusion that the universe is answering you and that you have to be awake to receive those answers?
