I just started reading Michael Hyatt’s Platform: Get Noticed in a Noisy World this week.
When you understand my lineage in online marketing pursuits over the last four years or so, it’s probably not hard to understand why I might take interest in a book that’s written from the perspective of someone who has done very well for himself in the blogging and social media realm.
Early in the book, you read this passage:
When we are young, parents and teachers tell us we can do anything and become whatever we want. But as we grow older, these same people tell us we must be more realistic.
This is an experience many of us share. But is it one we question?
Is there really a need to become more realistic as we age? Are dreams merely the privilege of children?
What we do with these question has a significant bearing on how we live our lives.
