To engage in myth is to embrace a mystery. With the illumination of new science, the mythical stories of the oracle, the Cyclops, and the star are transformed into fresh mysteries that are bursting with ancient perspective, factual provocation, and possible truth.
Myths are imprisoned by impossibility. Mysteries, on the other hand, are set free by possibility. Truth is only discovered through freedom.
Sherlock Holmes once said, “When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.”
The Question community can only question the impossible, but it is the detective searching for the truth who can eliminate the impossible. Put another way, if we too easily accept the impossible, we’ll never eliminate it.
