Jung’s concept of archetypes grew out of his observations of repeating patterns of thought, theme and form that reoccurred time and time again across countries, continents, cultures, and most importantly, across history.
These repeating patterns were widely manifested in art, architecture, and cultural imagery. Jung identified and then articulated the deeper ancient origins of many of these repeating patterns. He called these original patterns “archetypes”.
In this video, presenter Frederick Tamagi explores the different types of archetypes that exist and how we identify with them.
